You are already on the water.

Part One put the crew on the Red Cedar and the shore behind them. Part Two is where the bay starts to change. The sun is still up. The banter is still good. The crew is still the crew. But the water out here is a different colour than it was near the marina, and nobody has said anything about it yet.

This is the issue where the reader starts to feel the cold before they can name it. The adventure holds. The warmth holds. The characters are doing exactly what they should be doing. Something underneath all of it is not.

The full script for Part Two is enclosed. Six pages. The script knows where this is going. Your job is to make sure the reader doesn’t, not yet, while putting everything they’ll need in plain sight for the re-read.
